Inspired by the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster, this original textile artwork reflects on nature's ability to endure and recover.
 
Despite the profound impact of environmental catastrophe, life continues. Flowers emerge, seasons change, and landscapes slowly begin to heal. This piece explores the tension between human-made disaster and the resilience of the natural world, focusing on the quiet signs of renewal that appear long after the headlines have faded.
 
The artwork is created entirely from reclaimed materials, including second-hand fabric, thread and hoop. Hand embroidery is combined with paper, Lutradur and appliqué to create layered textures that echo themes of damage, recovery and transformation.
 
Framed in a 21.5cm (8½") hoop and ready to hang.
