Fukushima Embroidery

This hand embroidery is based on the Fukushima disaster.
 
Nature created this disaster in some ways, and is now returning to restore the balance of the area. Humans think they are so clever, but nature will always return peace and order to our clumsy attempts at trying to outsmart it.
 
The embroidery is made completely from up-cycled materials, all the threads, fabric and even the hoop are second hand as I don't want the manufacturing of these items to contribute to the problem.
 
This piece is entirely hand embroidererd with paint, ink, paper and Lutradur applied to it. The frame measures 16cm across and it is hung by the screw thread on the top
