Keine Macht

Keine Macht is an original textile artwork created using hand and machine embroidery.
 
Its title, meaning "No Power", is taken from a song by Terminal Choice. The piece depicts a once-grand staircase now falling into ruin, its history left deliberately uncertain. The damage could be the result of war, disaster, abandonment or simply the slow work of time. Rather than offering answers, the work invites the viewer to imagine the stories held within the crumbling walls.
 
Drawn to places where human presence lingers only as a trace, I am fascinated by the tension between former grandeur and gradual decay. The staircase becomes both a physical structure and a symbol of transition, leading towards an unknown destination beyond the frame.
 
The piece combines hand and machine embroidery with appliqué, ink and dye.
